Groppello
Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello DOC
Groppello
In the small town Picedo part of the district Polpenazze del Garda, the vineyards extend over an area of 3.05.00 hectares with a density of 6500 plants per hectare, trained in simple Guyot with a yield of 70 quintals / ha. The soils are of morainic origin, mainly sandy limestone.
Hand-made harvest, starting from the first decade of September.
After destemming and soft pressing, the grapes are put in cement vats where the spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place without the use of selected yeasts. After a maceration of 8/10 days, the wine is separated from the skins and decanted into amphorae where the fermentation is slowly and naturally accomplished to ensure that the fruity components are enhanced. After an aging of 3/4 months the wine is bottled.
